Apparently if you're listening to something in Pandora and attempt to pause use the iPhone headphone clicker, it will jump out of that application and start playing your last active playlist.

On a somewhat related note, my phone seems much happier running the v1 rather than v2 firmware.  Now to get all of my ringtones, calendar, and music restored tomorrow...
